Dr Angela McNaught
Clinical Psychologist.

Angela is a clinical psychologist who is registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board, and a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists. Her primary treatment model is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), which she has extensive experience and training in, including several programmes at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia.  

Angela’s areas of interest and experience are in working with: 

• Adjustment difficulties
• Anxiety, especially social anxiety 
• Depression
• Post-natal concerns
• Professional/Clinical supervision (especially medical professionals)
• Sleep difficulties
• Self-esteem and self-confidence issues
• Stress
• Work and occupational issues  

Angela completed her undergraduate training at Otago University (BA). She went on to complete a BA(Hons), a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology, and a PhD in Psychology all at Massey University. She has been qualified as a clinical psychologist since 2003.

Angela has a wide range of clinical experience having worked in adult community mental health at Counties Manukau District Health Board, before going on to work in the Liaison Psychiatry team at Middlemore Hospital. She was also a Senior Lecturer on the Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at Massey University for 8 years. As well as her work in private practice Angela teaches CBT to Psychiatric Registrars in training, and offers workshops in self-management for registrars in various training programmes.

Angela works on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in Pollen Street Practice.
